Terms of Use

By using ShortMusic you agree to these terms. ShortMusic has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users: content that breaks these terms is removed, and accounts that post it may be suspended or terminated.

1. Using ShortMusic

You may use ShortMusic only where permitted by law and in accordance with these terms. You are responsible for the prompts, lyrics, profile information, captions, hashtags, and music you create or publish through the service, and for all activity on your account.

2. Your content

“Your content” means the prompts and lyrics you submit, the music generated at your request, and the titles, captions, hashtags, and profile information you add.

You keep ownership. As between you and ShortMusic, you retain whatever rights you hold in your content. ShortMusic does not claim ownership of it.

License to ShortMusic. So that we can run the service, you grant ShortMusic a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt for technical delivery (for example, transcoding or creating previews), publicly perform, display, and distribute your content in connection with operating, providing, and promoting ShortMusic. For content you keep private, this license covers only what is needed to store it and provide it to you. For content you publish to the feed, it also covers showing it to other users and letting them play, like, save, and share it within the service.

How long the license lasts. The license ends when you make content private or delete it, or when your account is deleted — except for copies other users already shared outside the app, copies kept for a limited period in backups, and copies we must keep to comply with law or resolve disputes.

Generated music. Music-generation results may vary, and similar prompts can produce similar results for other users, so exclusivity is not guaranteed. Your rights in generated output may also depend on the plan and product terms presented at purchase and on applicable law.

3. Your commitments about content

By creating or publishing content, you confirm that:

• you own it or have all rights, licenses, and permissions needed to use it and to grant the license above;
• it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights — including by uploading, copying, or imitating another artist’s recordings, lyrics, voice, or likeness without permission;
• you will not publish music you do not have the right to share, such as copyrighted songs, lyrics, samples, or covers you have no license for;
• it complies with these terms and applicable law.

Before publishing, the app asks you to confirm that you have the rights to your music and that it follows these terms.

4. Community standards

You must not publish, or use ShortMusic to share, content that is:

• infringing of copyright or other intellectual-property rights;
• sexually explicit, or sexually exploits or endangers minors in any way;
• violent, threatening, or encourages self-harm or dangerous acts;
• hateful, or attacks people based on protected characteristics;
• harassing, bullying, or intended to intimidate someone;
• spam, scams, or deceptive, including impersonation of a person, artist, or brand;
• otherwise unlawful or objectionable.

5. Reporting, blocking, and moderation

Every track in the feed has a report option. You can report a track or its creator, and block a creator so their music no longer appears in your feed or search. You can review and unblock creators in Settings.

We review reports within 24 hours. Where content breaks these terms, we remove it, and we may suspend or terminate the account of the user who published it. ShortMusic may also review, restrict, or remove content and accounts on its own initiative where reasonably necessary to protect users, rights holders, or the service, or to comply with law.

6. Copyright complaints

ShortMusic respects intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on ShortMusic infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice as described on our Copyright & Takedown Policy page. We remove infringing content promptly and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

7. Credits, subscriptions, and purchases

Available products, billing periods, and renewal terms are displayed before purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple media-services terms. Restore Purchases is available in the app. Except where law requires otherwise, refunds are handled under Apple’s applicable policies.

8. Availability

The service may change, experience interruptions, or discontinue features. ShortMusic does not guarantee that every prompt will generate a result or that a result will meet a particular creative or commercial purpose.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion through the account deletion page. ShortMusic may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, including repeated copyright infringement, or where required by law.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. ShortMusic is not responsible for content published by users, although we act on reports as described above. Liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material updates will be published on this page with a new effective date, and where the change affects publishing, the app will ask you to agree again before you publish.
